A Space for a Creative Play Studio

Messy Play is another project we have been involved in at the Block Karlín building. As with our previous projects here, we took over the premises in a Shell & Core condition, with our task being to complete all construction work according to the architect’s design. Messy Play is a creative studio for children where they can paint, make things and explore sensory materials through play. The space therefore had to be practical and durable from the ground up.

Construction Designed for Children and Everyday Use

Across an area of 168 m², we installed plasterboard and glass partitions, complete technical systems, floor coverings, preparations for bespoke joinery and all necessary back-of-house facilities. Given the specific nature of the space, particular emphasis was placed on materials that can withstand intensive use and are easy to maintain, as well as, of course, the safety of the youngest visitors.

Handed Over Ready for the Finishing Touches

We handed over the space ready to be equipped with furniture, playful activity stations and decorations. This approach, in which we take care of the construction while the client completes the interior according to their own vision, has proven successful for projects with a strong brand and a distinct identity.

We hope Messy Play Karlín will bring as much joy to children and parents as we enjoyed bringing the project to life.

The Messy Play children's play studio was a refreshing change of pace, and we were happy to take it on. Our contribution focused entirely on the construction work, which we nevertheless had to coordinate closely with the architects and their joinery contractors.
