Canteen Renovation
IPVZ Prague
Renovation of the Food Serving Area and Canteen
During the summer holidays, we renovated the existing canteen and food serving area for the Institute for Postgraduate Medical Education in Prague 10. Our task was to renovate the serving area within two months, coordinating to some extent with another construction company responsible for the adjacent dining area. The entire project had to be completed during the summer holidays so that the canteen could reopen at the beginning of September.
From Demolition to New Facilities
After demolishing the existing structures, we installed new flooring, walls and ceilings, including plaster finishes, across an area of 53 m². New plasterboard partitions separated the back-of-house facilities from the serving area, making the layout more practical and better organised. The project also included complete electrical and ventilation system preparations in accordance with the catering equipment designer’s plans.
Turnkey Catering Equipment
In addition to the construction work, we also supplied catering equipment, including refrigerated display cabinets, refrigerated storage units and heated display cabinets. The project was challenging both in terms of timing and the specialist requirements involved, as catering facilities have specific needs and require close coordination between different trades. It is an interesting sector that we enjoy working in from time to time.
We handed over the canteen ready to resume operations and would like to thank the client for their trust. We hope the renovated facility will serve the staff and students well.
Catering facilities are a great example of how important cooperation between all trades is. From electrical installations and ventilation to the installation of catering equipment, everything needs to fit together seamlessly, with every detail precisely coordinated. It is rewarding to see an old space transformed into a functional canteen where meals will be served daily and which will fully meet the needs of its visitors.
