Modern Refresh of the Entrance Space
For the City West C2 office building in the Stodůlky district of Prague, we delivered a complete design and subsequent implementation of a refresh of the entrance lobby. The goal was to enliven the main entrance area and adjacent elevator corridors, giving them a more contemporary, fresh, and representative appearance. The client requested a modern, up-to-date solution that would reflect the character of the office building while creating a pleasant first impression for visitors and tenants alike.
Materials, Light, and Distinctive Details
A key element of the design is a coarse, textured white plaster applied to the walls of the lobby and corridors. Its pronounced texture, contrasted with the concrete columns, highlights the architecture of the space, while the white color allows the structure to stand out beautifully. The project also included a complete replacement of the lighting with new LED fixtures. In the corridors, the basic linear lighting is complemented by milled cladding panels with integrated LED strips, adding rhythm, depth, and a pleasant atmosphere to the space.
Reception as a Place to Meet
In the entrance lobby, we designed a new reception area with seating divided into two functional zones. Near the reception, an informal lounge area features lower, comfortable furniture, while to the left of the entrance there is a more formal seating area with tables of varying heights, enabling quick meetings between tenants and clients directly at the building entrance. Both zones are unified by milled cladding panels, complemented by designer pendant lights and area rugs that add warmth and comfort. The overall impression is enhanced by new greenery in custom-made planters. Seating and tables were supplied by LD Seating and Narbutas, while the cladding panels are by Swisspearl in the Patina Inline finish.
The result is a fresh, functional, and timeless entrance lobby that creates a representative first impression, encourages natural interaction, and provides high-quality facilities for the everyday operation of the office building.
